New Thought is a spiritually motivated way of life that embraces the ancient wisdom traditions of east and west. We embody the belief that consciousness is elementally creative, reciprocates thought, and thereby shapes all manifestation. Our principles reflect a universal conviction that the community of all life is sacred; our practices of meditation and prayer enhance a world view promoting reverence for, and service to humanity and planet earth.

• WE BELIEVE in God, The Living Spirit Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute and self existent Cause. This One manifests itself in and through all creation but is not absorbed by Its creation. The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God.
• WE BELIEVE in the incarnation of the Spirit in humankind and that all people are incarnations of the One Spirit.
• WE BELIEVE in the eternality, the immortality and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding.

• WE BELIEVE that the Universal Spirit, which is God, operates through a Universal Mind, which is the Law of God; and that we are surrounded by this Creative Mind which receives the direct impress of our thought and acts upon it.

• WE BELIEVE in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving-kindness and the eternal Givingness of Life to all.

In RELIGIOUS SCIENCE we believe that we live in a Spiritual Universe, ruled by a creative intelligence, which operates in a pattern of law, and love that we can rely on. Sometime we call this intelligence God or Divine Intelligence, bur regardless of the name, it is constantly surrounding and supporting us. We are never separated from this Infinite Source.

The philosophy of RELIGIOUS SCIENCE is found in the study of THE SCIENCE OF MIND, a text written by Dr. Ernest Holmes which details the nature of our relationship with this Infinite Source, how it operates in our life, and how we can direct our thoughts and beliefs to produce the experiences we desire.  As we gain understanding about our spiritual nature and the nature of the Universe, we gain control over our lives. By studying THE SCIENCE OF MIND we come to understand that spiritual laws respond to our thinking, whether positive or negative. This is why your life will benefit immediately and directly from the mental exercise of replacing worry and fear with positive and optimistic thoughts of love. With practice, you will actually begin to see positive changes in the conditions of your life.

The SCIENCE OF MIND philosophy taught at International Centers for Spiritual Living is based on the work of DR. Ernest Holmes, who was born in the late 1800's in rural New England. He immersed himself in the great philosophical minds of history, researched the world's religions, met and studied with the most brilliant minds of his time. This led him to a profound comprehension of basic truths. Dr. Holmes was able to understand and explain the basic principles of how the Universe operates and how God responds to us.

As one great teacher said, the seeds of failure grow as easily as the seeds of success. By applying Science of Mind principles in our everyday life, we plant seeds of success, whether it is for health, wealth, creativity or relationships.

We Know God is Always There for Us

A powerful method for setting the creative process into motion is SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT. This is a direct, focused form of affirmative prayer. It is called Spiritual Mind Treatment because Dr Holmes wanted to be sure everyone understood that this was a healing command, not a plea for mercy.

Spiritual Healing is based on rediscovering truth and finding inner peace, that special contact with God or Divine Intelligence that is always there, but may be temporarily hidden from view.

In Religious Science we believe that the presence of Divine Intelligence is always there, so grace and joy unfold in life in proportion to our recognition and acceptance of it.

Spiritual Mind Treatment is not faith healing or a get-rich-quick scheme. Treatment recognizes that Divine Intelligence is all knowing, all powerful, and everywhere present, and It responds to us.

Religious Science is a teaching that empowers people!

Religious Science teaches how to discover the strength, power and courage that is inherent within each of us. In part we do this by learning how to listen to our own inner teacher, use the power of affirmative prayer, and study Universal Principles for successful living.

In studying the Science of Mind philosophy, we expand our understanding of how the Spiritual Universe operates, which creates a positive expectation and increased faith in the ever-expanding process of life. Why? Because God, Spirit, the Universe, this Higher Power, whatever you want to call it, responds to positive practices with positive results. Throughout the wisdom of the ages, great teachers have said that God responds to us to the extent we recognize the power and the presence of God in our lives.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

The Celebration Center for Spiritual Living has programs for the very young through the teen years. These programs are structured to allow even the youngest children to recognize themselves as unique and valuable expressions of GOD; to experience using the power of their minds to create what they choose; and to share their joys and concerns with other children in a spiritually supportive environment. As children participate in these programs, their self-esteem builds and they become more confident in expressing themselves authentically and creatively.

INTERNATIONAL CENTERS FOR SPIRITUAL LIVING

The Celebration Center for Spiritual Living is a member of a larger organization called International Centers for Spiritual Living. Over 400 centers are members of ICSL, that provides curriculum for classes, a licensing body for ministers and practitioners, regional and national meetings, and Creative Thought Magazine, that  offers words of inspiration and spiritual mind treatment.
